Obama’s Re-election Run: What Does the World Want?

And Contrasting Views in Asia

People in China and Japan offer sharply different opinions about Obama. In China, confidence in the president has fallen since 2009, and just 27% approve of his handling of the economy. In contrast, 57% of Japanese approve of how Obama is handling global economic problems.

The survey was conducted prior to the completion of the Republican nomination process, so the question did not mention GOP nominee Mitt Romney. Question read, “Would you like U.S. President Barack Obama to be re-elected or not?”
