France Moving Toward Southern Europe

Thirty years ago, the French and German economies and populations were roughly comparable. And in past surveys, French attitudes on a range of issues were a hybrid of German and southern European views. Today, Germany is economically more vibrant. And French public opinion looks less like that in Germany and more like that in Spain, Italy and Greece.
