Declining Faith in Political Leadership
Economic bad times are rarely good times for politicians. Except for the Germans, most Europeans have no faith in their elected leaders’ handling of the euro crisis. Only a third of the French think President Francois Hollande is doing a good job with the economy. A majority (56%) thought his predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy was doing a good job, and he lost his job anyway. Support for British Prime Minister David Cameron has fallen 14 points in the last year.
